1. How to brush ?

Brush your teeth at least once a day as shown below, in the morning and before retiring to bed. Use a soft toothbrush and toothpaste recommended by your dentist.

  • Hold the brush at an angle of 45 and brush the outer surfaces in a circular or up & down motion.
  • Using the same circular motion, brush the inside of the back teeth.
  • Use the tips of the brush to clean the inner surfaces of the front teeth.
  • Using a scrubbing motion, clean the chewing surfaces. Also brush your tongue gently and rinse well with water.

2. How to floss ?

Floss at least once a day as shown below, to remove plaque between the teeth and gums.

Take approx. 45 centimeters of floss and wrap it around your middle fingers. With your thumbs and index fingers, secure it well

Insert the floss between your teeth. Gently pull and push by pressing it against each side of the tooth.

Work the floss up & down concentrating below the gum line.

Use a floss threader to get the floss under the bridge or wires, if you are wearing one.

3. Is brushing and flossing necessary ?

Yes ! To keep your teeth & gums healthy, it is necessary to brush & floss everyday. Brushing & Flossing removes plaque from your teeth.

4. What is plaque ?

Plaque is a sticky thin film of germs which get collected on your teeth and gums. Plaque is the root cause of gum disease & tooth decay. It is necessary to remove the plaque everyday.
